Just recently I had ordered a book from Amazon. The book was one that was recommended by a friend. So I was expecting it as per the shipping information on the site. On my way home from work that day, I received a notice that the package was delivered. When I arrived home, I was excited to get to my front door and get my book. But once I stepped our of my work van, I noticed there were no packages.
My first thought was that the delivery driver hid the package to keep from having a theft. So I looked around for a few more minutes and still, there were no package to be found. Disappointment set it. I walked inside my house and over to my computer. The email that I received from Amazon shows a picture of the package at a door, but the door and the mat was not my door, nor my mat.
I walked around the neighborhood real quickly, thinking that I could find that door. I did not want someone to think though that I was stealing someone else’s package. So I just waited until dark. Then I walked around and found the door that it was delivered too. It was delivered 2 houses down from where I live. The next day, I got really busy and could not go and knock on the door to address this issue.
The next day, I came home from work and I say a moving truck in the drive way where that package was dropped off. So I walked over and their door was wide open. I yelled out to them and the guy came to the door. I introduced myself and explained the reason for my visit. He turned and looked at his girlfriend and said, “Did you order a book for me?” She said, “No”. He turned and said, “I am sorry, I received a package a few days ago, and my last name is Darren Davis, and I thought they just messed up on the name. I do not have it at this house, as I am moving and the book is setting on my desk. That book looks good. Do you mind if I read it? I thought it was a gift from my girlfriend.”
I was reminded how that I have sent to a friend a gift in the mail. They did not know that it was coming. But when they received it, they were in awe of the gift. And knowing who it came from, they knew they were blessed.
“Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift.” 2 Corinthians 9:15
This is how God works. When he just wants to give you a gift, he slips it into your life. I remember the first time that I gave the tongues part of a message from God. I was not expecting that to happen. And I never thought that it was within me. I was preaching a message and then I felt that calm hush come over me. And then I begin speaking with tongues. Then I realized what I was doing and I shut myself down. Fear griped my heart as I have never done that before. Not wanting to speak something that was not of God. As I stood there waiting for a moment another young man stood and gave the interruption of those tongues.
I stepped back and could not finish the message. I fell to my knees and begin to pray and cry out to God. The altar call was a very powerful one. God moved in that place.
God wants to increase your gifts.
Open your heart to more.
Allow God to pour into your heart an increase.
What is God trying to give to you today?
