Cycle of Life

When I was a child, I remember watching my mother as she put a pot of water on the stove. No, not a kitchen stove but a wood stove. We lived in the country and our heat came from an old wooden stove. My mother would put some pinto beans in that pot of water and some fat back. She would let that cook all day long on that wood stove until it was supper time. But during the day, many times she would have to add water to that pot. Why? Because the water would turn to steam and leak out into the air.

While hearing the different comments from both sides of the presidential election, one thing came to mind. All through the years of my life, I have seen Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump. With each president that we have had, from what I have seen first hand, there has been someone that did not like who was in the White House. As each president did their term, we have seen changes take place and then there are changes that were undone.

One thing that I have seen is this “Cycle of Life”. As the scripture states…

“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” James 4:14

So just like that water in that pot of beans my mother would put onto that wood stove, it became a vapour and it was gone. Our life is short. God has a calling and a purpose for each of us. It is too short for us to sit around and through words toward each person that we disagree with. We should be a man / woman of God that stands with a purpose. Allowing God to use us during our “Cycle of Life” in a way that can touch the lives of everyone we meet.

What are you praying for?

What is your desires?

What is your focus on while you are a vapour?

What is your purpose in this life?
