Energy like the Sun

Study has shown that the sun is like 4.603 billion years old. Have you ever thought about what is keeping the sun burning after all of these years? Have you ever lit a fire in a fire place? It seems that if you do not keep playing materials that would burn in there, then it will go out at sometime or another. But the sun has been burning for all of these years. How is that possible?

We all know that God created everything so perfectly. So study shows that the sun is made of gases. There is a process called Nuclear fusion that takes place when one proton smashes into another proton so hard that they stick together…and release some energy as well. This energy then heats up the other materials (other protons and electrons and such) nearby. This heating eventually grows out from the center (or core) of the star to the outside, finally leaving the surface and radiating out into space to be the heat and light we know stars emit.

I remember a time when I was younger. I lived from day to day. I took everything to the limits. One time, I was driving my car and it was close to E (empty) and I thought that I had plenty of time to get to the gas station. So I did not worry about it until the car sputtered and begin to slow down. I realized that I was not going to make it. Having to pull over and then take a look at where I was at and think about where the closest gas station was. I was really too far away. So I had to call a friend and ask them if they could help me out. If not, I would have to walk for miles to get some gas and then walk miles back.

I am reminded about the story Jesus told about the Ten Virgins. The five that were wise and the five that were foolish. And the scripture states that they were ALL sleeping. In other words, they are like many of us today. We are all sleeping and not taking a look at life around us. Jesus states, “the bride groom call was made, go ye out to meet him.” This was when they all woke up. Being woken sometimes causes people to slumber. It takes some a little extra time to wake up. But one thing happened as they begin to trim their lamps. The foolish realized that they had no oil for the journey. And they reached out asking for help from the wise. The wise looked at their inventory and said, “we can’t help you, go buy your own.”

Many times in our walk with God, we tend to look for others to help us in the time of need. A friend to pray with us. A pastor to preach to us. Someone to tell us what to do. Someone to give us a hand through our rough times. Think about the sun information that I shared earlier. Will you be like the sun with your relationship with God? Praying and reading the word. Gaining knowledge from God’s word yourself? Or do you always depend on others to give you the word? Or you feel their blessing as it spills out in worship because they have spent much time in prayer and you just walked into the doors of the church. Can you stubstain yourself in your walk with God?

In this endtime, can you stand on your own?

Do you have LIFE inside of you?

What is your walk with God like?

Can you say that you get your source of strength from God?

Can you truly say that you are ready to meet God?

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.” Psalms 121:1
