No Help Wanted

On the day that we picked up 2 van loads of people from the homeless shelter, we chauffeured them to the church to be in our Sunday morning service. One week ago, we had only picked up 1 person for church. That one person who came, received the Holy Ghost, got Baptized in Jesus name, and received healing from cancer in his lungs. Having went back to the doctors, he asked them to check his body again. As he stated at church, “I am healed!” After coming back to the homeless shelter, he shared the good news to as many people as he could about how he had came to our church and God healed him.

So 2 van loads of people, which we were not expecting, this caused the second load of people to be late to the service. I knew then that God had opened a door for us to bring these people into the church. But the problem was, we were just 2 people. It was not like we had a lot of people helping us. We knew from that day, that we had to have some help.

I went into the pastors office, seeking his council on the issue. His words his me hard. “Bro. Daniel, do not ask anyone for help. I know you need it, but do not ask anyone for help.” So my pastor begin to explain to me this. Churches have seen people start something and then stop. They have seen ministries get birthed and then they die. They want to see someone that will stand. Not only that, if you ask someone for help, they will do it our of courtesy to you and not out of a burden. And when the time comes, they will bail on you. Those that have a burden, they will work and work and work in order to accomplish the desires of their heart to please God.

So with that, I want to say this . . .

Get ready to step out into your ministry.

Be faithful.

Help is on the way.

Just stick with it and see the hand of God.

After weeks of working and even buying them pizza with our own money, then we started having people come to us and ask if they could help. WE had ladies wanting to cook meals, we had people wanting to drive the bus, which freed us to start teaching Bible studies every Sunday morning before service. The wisdom of my pastor opened my eyes on how to build any and every ministry.
