Stolen Property Recovered

This thought was inspired by a friend today. Just yesterday, YEP, yesterday, I walked out of my house yesterday morning on my way to work. As I stepped outside, I saw the doors of my daughters car open. I saw the doors of my truck open. And I saw the doors of my work van open. Now, I lock all of my doors. So for a moment I was in total disbelief. Maybe one of my daughters were outside looking for something and had opened these doors. But as I walked closer to my work van, I noticed something that just hit me to the heart.

All of my tools were gone. All of the POS (point of sale) equipment were gone. Yes, that means brand new Ipads, credit card readers, the stands . . . . . yes.. everything. All of my tools.. oh and did I say ALL of my TOOLS? Gone!

It took me a few minutes to compose myself. Once I did, I called the 911 and reported the issue. I then called my boss and explained to him what happened. Then I begin looking at my personal cars. My truck, they pulled my speakers out of it. And my daughter’s car, they took a few things. But she didn’t have much of anything in there.

So yesterday, my head was just not clear. I wrestled all day long with thoughts. The pain of being violated. The pain of loosing my tools. Hundreds of dollars stolen. The first thoughts that I had were “OK God, GET THEM!” Like he was some kind of guard dog.

This morning, while I started my day in prayer, because you know God’s mercies are new EVERYDAY! I begin my prayer by saying “God, forgive them. They may not have food on their kids table, because they lost their job. Forgive them and bless their family.” Yes I would like my stuff back. All of my tools that I worked hard for. But what is more important? My relationship with God.

1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

My friend reminded me . . . That scripture in proverbs…

Proverbs 6:30-31 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.

Yes I would like my tools back, but more than that . . I want my joy back. I would rather loose everything I own just to keep my relationship with MY GOD alive and well!
