While as a kid, I would see my dad leave for work. There would be times that my mother would take us by to see him during his lunch time. Then there would be times, my dad would have to run by his job in order to fix something or meet someone to discuss some changes. What my dad did was build things. Yes, he was a carpenter. He would go out on a site and stake things out. So that the bulldozers could do their part. The people digging the footing for the foundation could do their part.
After the footing was dug, then my dad would help with getting the foundation setup so that he could come back later and begin framing the house out. Putting the walls up. The ceiling and then getting the roof on the house. I remember while being young, my parents purchased some land. On this land, my dad begin to build a building. This building was going to be a shed. A place to store all of his tools and whatever else we needed it to be.
He had gotten the foundation finished and had some concrete foundation. I had helped him build the walls and out on a roof. Afterwards, we went inside and put in the insulation to keep the inside warm or cool depending on the temperature outside. But then.. other things got important. We did not finish the inside. There was no sheet rock to cover the walls. No paint that was done. Matter of fact, the outside of the building just had plywood. There were no bricks or siding, it just had plywood and that was it. So this building was completely UNFINISHED.
I was thinking about what the scripture tells us.
“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matt 26:41
Many times we start watching the things of God and we do spend a little bit of time in prayer before we get distracted and stop. And because we stop, God can not finish the work that he has began in us. He starts dealing with us and showing us things in the spirit and then we get distracted and loose focus. So he has to shake us and cause us to regain our focus. To get back on the project. To continue allowing him to shape and mode us. TO get us ready for the revival that is coming. We need to allow Him to be that Chief Cornerstone in our life.
“And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;” Ephesians 2:20
What is he working on in your life?
Have you given Him your full attention?
Are you holding anything back?
